Claude Opus 4.8: API pricing 2026
Anthropic's current flagship (released 28 May 2026), pricing unchanged from Opus 4.6/4.7 at $5/$25. Per Anthropic's pricing docs the Opus 4.7+ tokenizer produces approximately 30% more tokens for the same text than Sonnet 4.6/Haiku, which still use the older shared tokenizer — material when modelling cost-per-task. Use the cost-per-task numbers in the calculator (3k in + 1k out) for like-for-like.
